Why do I need a costume scent?

As active cosplayers we spend a lot of time and money on the components for our personal and commissioned costumes. Nearly all of them have scents of glued, painted, rubberized, and metallic pieces and parts. When putting on a full face helmet, instead of smelling like fiberglass, we wished there was a cosplay perfume so that we would smell like the character instead. We started experimenting with scents to mask the fabrication odors, and then moved into augmenting and accenting the build with appropriately themed costume scents. When we realized that others might want to do the same thing for their costumes, Duft Werks was born. We are so happy to help you bring your ideas into full sensory overload. How much spray will I need?

Our sprays come in a 30ml pump bottle. We suggest that you spray a layer, let it dry, and then add subsequent layers until you find the level of scent that you are happy with. On fabrics, expect 6-24 hour wear time, and on hard surfaces about 6-12 hours, depending on your applications. Because we are ALCOHOL free, layering is key for scent strength.

What if I am sensitive to fragrances?

Then you could be sensitive to the scents. The only thing we would add is that the fabrication odors of your costume may bother you too, and our scents may help mask that and make your build easier to wear.

Is it skin safe?

We use cosmetic grade fragrance oils, and our formula is pretty basic, only adding water and witch hazel. We are all alcohol free. Our sprays are specifically designed to be used on your costume, not as a body spray. If it does come in contact with your skin and causes a reaction, rinse the area and discontinue use. Of course, keep away from eyes and never ingest the spray.

Is it costume safe?

We have tested the sprays on our own costumes and many different fabrics, surfaces, and textures. So far we haven't found anything that reacts adversely. If you are unsure how to apply costume scents, please test on a small area of your costume before applying it liberally. We are not responsible for damage to costumes.

What if I hate what I chose?

No worries. Send back the unused bottle and we will refund your money less a 25% restocking fee. We also have small samples available for a nominal fee if you want to try before you decide to buy.

What spray is on the Jetpack?

A mix of Voyager and Frozen. This piece is from my personal snow Mandalorian, and requires 2 different sprays to get the effect I am looking for. Remember that you can mix and match different scents for the different parts of your costume, too!

Buyer assumes all risk and liability for loss, damages or injury to persons or to the property of the Buyer arising out of the use or presence of sprays purchased from Duft Werks. Buyer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Duft Werks against any liability, damages, losses, costs, and expenses in connection with any suit or claim, including but not limited to any loss of use, loss of profit of said costume or prop sold with Sprays in use, damage or injuries to person or property arising out of or relating to any use of Costume Sprays purchased by Buyer herein, whether such claim/s is made by Buyer, Buyers customers or other third parties.

Duft Werks in its discretion may furnish to Buyer usage advice or assistance regarding the Costume Sprays. Duft Werks assumes no obligation or liability for the advice or assistance given or the results obtained, which shall be at Buyer's sole risk.
